Sitka & Cedar: Expressions of Interest Update

The WHA is excited to share that 461 households expressed interest in Sitka & Cedar, our newest rental housing project. This strong response shows the continued need for secure rental housing for Whistler's workforce. One-bedroom units saw the highest demand. This is consistent with the large number of single and couple households on the WHA Rental Waitlist.

What Happens Next

Those who expressed interest will be contacted over the next month based on their seniority on the Waitlist and by unit type. Before committing to a unit, they will be able to review the rental details for their specific application.

Any units that remain available after this process will be reopened to the Waitlist. This means anyone who missed the first window, including those who have joined since it closed, will be able to express interest based on their eligibility.

Housing for Families and Qualified Roommates

There are 40 two- and three-bedroom units at Sitka & Cedar, and more on the horizon with the completion of 1600 Mount Fee Road. With so many new rental homes due for completion in the next two years, WHA is expecting reduced wait times for future rental opportunities.

Families that are not yet on the WHA Rental Waitlist are encouraged to join.

Qualified Roommates must each be eligible for the program and submit their own Waitlist application. Once you've applied, contact WHA to have your accounts linked for roommate housing opportunities.

Families and Qualified Roommates are eligible for both two- and three-bedroom units, so long as occupancy standards are met. These require at least one and no more than two people per bedroom. Spouses and couples are expected to share a bedroom.

Not on the Waitlist?

New members are always welcome on the WHA Rental Waitlist. If you have questions about the process or WHA's Employee Housing Program, visit the WHA website or email mail@whistlerhousing.ca. Our team is happy to help.
