The WHA is excited to welcome the first batch of new tenants to their homes at Sitka & Cedar (in Cheakamus Crossing). The project being ahead of schedule allowed move-ins to start on July 20 and will continue in stages through the rest of July and into August. A warm "welcome home" to all those moving into the new buildings!
Developed by Whistler 2020 Development Corporation, Sitka & Cedar provides 104 rental homes, the largest WHA rental project to date, and is the result of a joint investment by BC Housing, the Resort Municipality of Whistler (RMOW) and the WHA. Thank you to our partners, as well as the large number of tradespeople and consultants who helped bring this project to life.
Three-Bedroom Homes Are Still Available
Studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom homes are now fully allocated, but there are some three-bedroom homes remaining available. We are signing tenancy agreements with new Waitlist applicants for these units now, so a household joining the WHA Rental Waitlist today could still be housed at Sitka & Cedar. These larger units are designed for families with dependents or groups of qualified roommates.
Rental rates begin at $2,940 per month for a three-bedroom home. Rates are rent-geared-to-income (RGI), set at 30% of your household's gross income, within a posted minimum and maximum for each unit type. To estimate what your household would pay, use the WHA Rental Rate Calculator.
Other Qualifying Criteria
- Employment: 30 or more hours per week for a Qualified Whistler Business
- Status: Canadian citizen, permanent resident or on the path to permanent residency
- Other criteria: income limits and occupancy standards also apply
