Construction on the Whistler Housing Authority (WHA)’s next Employee Housing rental project has achieved lock-up. With approximately 50 people working regularly onsite, progress continues at a steady pace.
Jointly financed by BC Housing, the Resort Municipality of Whistler and the WHA, the two buildings located at 1475 Mount Fee Road in Cheakamus Crossing will feature 104 units to be rented to members on the WHA Rental Waitlist. In addition to studio and one-bedroom units, there will be many family-sized units in these buildings; with 32 two-bedroom units, as well as 8 three-bedroom units with underground parking and elevator access.
These new Employee Housing units are expected to complete and be ready for tenant occupancy in the summer of 2026. We will be sharing more information on the project and application process with our waitlist members in early 2026.
We are also looking forward to sharing some exciting details on yet another new WHA rental project in the not-too-distant future. We encourage everyone to keep an eye on the News section on the WHA website, subscribe to the WHA Newsletter and, if you’ve yet to apply to our Rental Waitlist, take advantage of the cooler weather and shorter days to complete your application as soon as possible so you’re in the queue for these new employee restricted homes.
