The Whistler Housing Authority (WHA) is inviting Expressions of Interest from qualified and motivated individuals to join its Board of Directors. This is an opportunity to contribute professional expertise and community leadership to support Whistler’s Employee Housing Programs at a pivotal time of growth and development.
The WHA Board of Directors provides governance direction and strategic oversight for the organization, which currently owns and operates 375 units of employee rental housing, with additional housing under construction. Board members play an important role in guiding the future evolution of employee housing in Whistler and supporting the community’s long-term housing priorities.
For the current nomination cycle, WHA is seeking applicants for one Community at Large Director position and one Community Representative position. Community at Large Directors serve up to two 3-year terms, while Community Representatives serve up to two 2-year terms. Board service is a volunteer role and does not include remuneration.
WHA encourages applications from individuals with diverse backgrounds and experience. Candidates with expertise in financial management, legal matters, risk management, and development are particularly encouraged to apply. All Board members are expected to demonstrate basic financial literacy, an interest in or experience with board governance, and a strong commitment to Whistler’s Employee Housing Program.
Board meetings are typically held every two months at Municipal Hall, with committee meetings scheduled in alternating months. Board members are expected to prepare for, attend, and actively participate in meetings, and may also represent WHA at community forums or related events.
Interested individuals are invited to complete the Board Application and submit it along with a resume and a brief statement outlining their interest in serving on the Board. Applications must be received by 3:00 pm PST on January 30, 2026.
